"SOS" - Mixed Media, 36x79" 2008 (For Sale $1800)

This piece was started by priming both sides of an un-stretched canvas then stucco was adhered to the canvas to add texture underneath the applied water-base acrylic paint. The canvas was mounted to a custom made wood frame and two large pieces of sheet metal were assembled on the top and bottom with large marina like nuts and bolts. A metal screen was nailed in the center with two think sheets of wood presenting an enclosed cage. The canvas was sealed with water-base polycrylic and hangs from two large eye hooks connected to chain links.

SOS is the commonly used in description for the international Morse code and distress signal meaning "Survivors On Shore". In other popular usage, this signal became associated with phrases such as "Save Our Ship" and "Save Our Souls" represented within the sequence (· · · — — — · · ·) which is painted on the right hand side of the piece.

The un-stretched canvas was first primed on both sides then stucco was molded as raised texture below the layers of water-based acrylic paint. The canvas was then mounted to a custom built wooden frame and finished with a water-based polycrylic sealer.

This piece was purchased by a business owner and installed at B-More Ink-Up Tattoo's located in Baltimore Maryland. The un-stretched canvas was first primed on both sides then stucco was molded into the form of hand prints to present raised texture below the layers of water-based acrylic paint. The canvas was then mounted to a custom built wooden frame and finished with a water-based polycrylic sealer.

UNDERTONE EXPERIENCE

"Undertone Experience" - Acrylic on Wood, 39x56" 2007 (Sold)

This piece was initially purchased by a business owner and installed at Geometric's Hair Studio in Baltimore Maryland. The wooden structure was a custom built experiment in building texture with multiple layers of water-based acrylic paint finished with a water-based polycrylic seal.
