This piece was started by priming both sides of an un-stretched canvas then stucco was adhered to the canvas to add texture underneath the applied water-base acrylic paint. The canvas was mounted to a custom made wood frame and two large pieces of sheet metal were assembled on the top and bottom with large marina like nuts and bolts. A metal screen was nailed in the center with two think sheets of wood presenting an enclosed cage. The canvas was sealed with water-base polycrylic and hangs from two large eye hooks connected to chain links.

In other popular usage, this signal became associated with phrases such as "Save Our Ship" and "Save Our Souls" represented within the sequence (· · · — — — · · ·) which is painted on the right hand side of the piece.
